Brief Task Description
The entry level Field Engineer assists in performing testing and balancing work involving variety of mechanical systems and control devices. He/she is expected to meet performance standards set by management and comply with all Company policies and procedures. This position will train and work with other technicians and report directly to the Field Engineering Department Manager. The entry level Field Engineer performs the following:
- Assist in performing the test and air balance work on projects
- Perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately
- Assist in preparing preliminary and final field balancing logs
- Assist in preparing written reports regarding system installation function and design deficiencies
- Actively participate in the MacDonald-Miller sponsored Education and Training Program
- Understand, accept and support MacDonald-Miller’s Operating Guidelines, Operational Beliefs and Customer Commitment
- Perform additional tasks as assigned

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
The candidate must possess and be adaptable to the following physical abilities and working conditions:
- Ability to frequently lift or carry 20 to 50 pounds
- Ability to see and hear well (either naturally or with correction) and speak clearly
- Coordinate the movement of your eyes, hands and/or fingers
- Continuous computer screen use
- Physical requirements included: standing, bending, squatting, sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and driving
- Typical working conditions include: working on ladders, on rooftops, in crawl spaces, in unheated areas and in all weather conditions
- Work an eight hour shift and capable of working ten to twelve hour days when job/business needs demands
Qualification Requirements
- Self-motivated
- Have reliable transportation
- History of good attendance and punctuality
- Able to work alone and in a team environment
- A valid license and clean driving record are required
- Actively participate in MacDonald-Miller sponsored Education and Training Programs
- Previous test and air balancing experience is a plus
- Possess a moderately strong mathematical aptitude for standard algebraic equations
- Take pride in ones work and accept a level of responsibility for his/her professionalism and accuracy
- Possess a computer aptitude including hardware and software
- Adhere to WISHA/OSHA job site safety requirements
- A candidate is required to pass a pre-hire drug screening and physical examination (after job offer)
